EHV-1 Outbreak

Posted by PrairieRiversHolisticVeterinaryServices on May 31, 2011 at 1:44 PM

The USDA has updated the information available in tracking the EHV-1 outbreak.

Please view their website for the latest information. At this time there is one horse in Illinois that attended the show and it is being monitored very closely for signs of disease. Please view the incidence report at the link provided to see where the affected horses are.

At this time monitoring your horses rectal temperature is your best offense. If you note your horses temperature starting to rise, especially if it gets above 101.5, please call us to discuss the need to examine your horse.

As always, please call if you have any questions.
